There's one thing you can count on with Madonna - there's new music always coming down the pipeline, and every CD is different. This one isn't going to be one for the ages.
Overall, it's a decent album. It's not anything revolutionary or an attempt to kick the industry in the behind, like "Confessions..." and "Ray of Light" were. But it's different from the last, in style and tempo, so she's holding true to form.
"4 Minutes" didn't seem to get as much top 40 fanfare as I thought and that might have been a sign that the entire album isn't going to be well received. "Give it to me" is the follow-up which hasn't had much, if any, airplay.
The album starts strong with a goodie in "Candyshop" which ... Read More:

You have to hand it to Madonna, she's a marketing genius! Proving once again that what you lose on the swings you gain on the round-a-bouts, this "Girlie Show" inspired maxi-single serves up 8 mouth-wateringly delicious remixes, all of which re-interpret the pomp and pageantry of "Give It To Me" in a completely different way! You would be hard-pushed not to find something to your liking here! Detractors will find fault, of course, but you don't last 25 years in the harsh music industry without learning a thing or two about how to please your audience and corner the market! An astute business move indeed!

Release Date November 07, 2006
having collected all the authorized maxi-singles of her madjesty madonna, this is one disappointment. while the song is great, the remixes are not so much. interestingly, i only liked the short and long versions of the songand the one remixed by stuart price - it has different refrain! not even the unreleased track, "history" could make up for this mess.
buy instead the spectacular album "confessions on a dance floor" and avoid disappointment...whatever happened to madonna's great remixes in the 80's and 90's? call shep pettibone! junior vasquez! william orbit! etc...

What a bummer of a CD. There isnt anything over the top, or memorable about the songs on this release. Why wasn't "I got your love" included on this release? "I'm a fire" is way too long, and "Stamp your feet" only makes you want to stamp your feet in disgust. Skip this one.

If I disliked her before reading the book (and I did), I detested her after reading. I would guess she makes life pretty miserable for everyone around her, including her children.
Release Date April 15, 2008
I love this album. This album is just as good as her last one back in 2005. The album means emancipation = Mariah Carey to the second power. The music appeals to Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae(Cruise Control) and Gospel(I Wish You Well). On this album, She worked with The Dream, Jermaine Dupri, Will.i.am, Stargate, DJ Troomp, and C. "Tricky" Stewart. Her concentration is not on club-oriented dance tracks but on smooth, mid-tempo R&B that pulses with sexy glamour. Nothing on this album is a radical depature, but she gets better at making sexy, listenable, flawlessly crafted R&B. This album has been certified Platinum so far.

Whenever most audiophiles refer to Moby's crowning career achievement, most will mention his 1999 breakout album, Play. The creativity and originality of Play was a shining moment in the electronica genre, but unfortunately, Moby's creative light has fizzled in his latest offering, Last Night.
With his last album (Hotel) being less than stellar, Moby fans were forced to wait three years to see if he could musically reconcile with his loyal following. However, much to the chagrin of this reviewer, Last Night was a deplorable effort from an artist who was once electronica royalty. When a musician feels inclined to explicitly describe the concept of an album instead of letting the music speak for itself, something is amiss. In the album's liner notes, Moby states, "It's me trying ... Read More:
