Still Feels Good

As with their previous work, Rascal Flatts' "Still Feels Good" album is filled with great country songs, such as "Winner At a Losing Game," "Every Day," "Take Me There" and the title track. Unfortunately, the album is ruined by what is probably the worst song in history. "Bob That Head" is utterly unlistenable. It is probably one of 4 songs--in any genre--that make me scream and run for the radio dial to change stations when it comes on. It's stupid, pointless, and gross if you choose to think about an alternate meaning of it (I won't put it into words here--if you get what I mean you will understand). Family which LeAnn admits is her most personal record to date,clearly shows her continued growth as an artist in general and a songwriter in particular.She wrote(or co-wrote)all of the songs on the cd(which is a first in her career thus far).
The first single off the cd 'Nothin Better To Do' cracked Billboards Top 20 and the video was in heavy rotation on CMT and to a lesser degree on GAC.The song is very original,upbeat and the video perfectly suited the song and is Ms.Rimes best video to date. Some have been critical of the song citing that they cannot make out the words.This is weak.If you can't make out all the words,read them in the cd booklet.I can think of many great songs by many different artists where all the words cannot be clearly ... I recently bought this album for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. Every morning when she is putting on her make-up, she cannot stop dancing to "One Step At A Time". She is growing up so fast, and I think Jordin Sparks would make a great role model for her.

I only knew a few Sara Evans songs, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good she is, and how good this Greatest Hits collection is. I'd recommend this CD to any lover of country music.

Taylor Swift

I will admit, Taylor caught my eye before she caught my ear. I was just getting into country music at the time I heard her first popular song "Tim Mcgraw". I liked it alot, but as other reviewers stated, this isn't real country by any means. I dont think its a reason to knock her down. If you took out the banjo and the fiddle out of her songs you would get your typical singer song writer music(which they eventually did, to make her music more pop friendly (bad news in my books)).
This is a little off topic part of my review, but maybe someone can answer my question. I am not so sure why everyone is obsessed with the fact that country artists write their own songs. In rock music, thats the only way to go, so when I made the leap from rock to country, ... Read More:

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Let it be said that Miranda Lambert is the best artist to emerge from a 'reality show' on any station in any musical format. That this "Nashville Star" graduate had a great voice is a moot point, but few could have predicted that she would make a timeless, classic album such as "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" so early in her career.

The album title is unfortunate (I would have preferred that she chose something more laidback or meaningful), but the album is most decidedly a grassroot country album that gives you true country in this era of pathetic pop-rock being passed off as country.
