One of those bands that you never hear of until you start looking under the surface of what the mainstream shows you, it's a major shame that this band never got any recognition. The fact they were dropped by their label is ridiculous, especially when this music is as good or better than any other huge band of the early 90s like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam or whatever. And I'm a big fan of Nirvana.
Anyway, while my favorite song here is "Jack" and that's why my review is titled the way it is, there isn't a weak track on the album. While I have heard some people have had trouble finding the album for a reasonable price, I just bought it at Sonic Boom records here in Seattle for 7.99 plus tax so the possibility is out there. ... What the hell are you waiting for? This is SO GOOD!!! Who could conceive of a better career retrospective than to get together with the bands you've played with over the course of your life on your 50th birthday and not only recreating the sound and the intensity, but actually IMPROVING on it! This one's a no-brainer. Al's in great voice, all the muscians kick butt, and the sound is crystal-clear in your face. The only complaint is it's too short and there's no accompanying DVD. But it's also out of print, so you better get it while you can still afford it.

Let's face it, less than half the songs on these two CDs are good...at all. But the handful that are good more than makeup for it...because they are SO good. Clutch doing Cross-eyed Mary?!?!? Sweet! I would definitely recommend this album to anybody that likes rock music of any sort. I just wish they would have left out the crap and made this one disc. Buy, burn a mix of the best songs, and away you go...well worth the price of admission.
