The grinding, echoing space that Hopewell carves out on this album is like a giddy isolation tank, and the sound deserves high volume or a good set of headphones. The Hopewell experience reminds me most of the crushing joyful feeback accomplishments of the traditional heavies, like Velvet Underground, as well as the masters of more recent noisy neo-psychedelia, including the Flaming Lips, rather than of the lighter Merry-Go-Round or Beatles production style of bands like Kula Shaker. This stuff actually vibrates its way into your head.

For those who started with the later work of "Hopewell & the Birds of Appetite," as I did, you will find the vocals heavily buried under the roiling harmonic noise. For me: a very good thing, though others ... Read More:

This is one CD my kids and I can turn on and every song is great. We love to turn it on to play very loudly. Can't help it. I do have my favorites on the album but I have come to love some songs over others as we listen to it again and again. You can't go wrong buying this album.

I had decided to go out on a date with this new guy. That was the first time I had ever heard this CD. That CD is now mine. He gave it to me, I play it at work in the car and now we are going to have Make US One sung at our wedding. It is a awesome CD. I have played the piano for years plus listened to a lot of music. This is one of the best CD's I have. It must have been a awesome concert!!

Rocketown Records is officially five years old, and so to celebrate they released a compilation CD of some of their biggest hits. Starting off the CD is none other than the Dove-nominated Song of the Year "If You Want Me To" by the talented Ginny Owens. This is Ginny's trademark song and became an instant classic when released on her debut album in 1999. Ginny appears later on the disc with the R&B influenced "Free". Chris Rice shows up with the song that put him on the map, "Deep Enough to Dream". Chris was Rocketown's first of many successful artists.
