Toujours Le Même Film...Search: Uptight by: Urbs Release Date May 16, 2006 I'd never heard of Urbs before this release, I found this CD by way of Peter Kruder. Kruder (of Kruder and Dorfmeister stoned downtempo fame) is a production genius, and he's on top of his game here. Lush yet spare jazz-based progressions, and atmospheric live instrumentation weave in and out of the smoky soundscape Kruder fans have come to expect. Can't recommend this highly enough - like all good albums, it'll grow on you more and more after each repeated listen. This was the only CD I had with me on a 5 hour road trip from Las Vegas to Phoenix, it played over and over again, and I never got tired of it. Awesome, moody stuff. |
Chocolate Elvis DubsSearch: Uptight by: Tosca Release Date June 07, 1999 For me, this is the Tosca CD that's remained on medium high rotation the last five or so years. There's less a feeling that guest knob-twiddlers are simply messing with a single track over and over, than there is a cohesive album that flows. Yeah, my favourite. Recommended. |

Millennium Jazz, Vol. 5Search: Uptight by: Various Artists Release Date July 10, 2001 For me, this is the Tosca CD that's remained on medium high rotation the last five or so years. There's less a feeling that guest knob-twiddlers are simply messing with a single track over and over, than there is a cohesive album that flows. Yeah, my favourite. Recommended. |
Colin ScotSearch: Uptight by: Colin Scot Release Date June 27, 2006 I recorded almost 3/4's of this album off a memphis underground radio station in the mid 70's, based on the guest that were on it. Listened to the cassette often and alot back then. Tried on many occasions to find the album back then, hell no one had ever heard of this recording. Still have the cassette somewhere, abandoned the cassette 15 20 yrs ago. I was so happy to see and find this recording, ordered from amazon, got in today, so glad to have back in my collection. This is a wonderful recording folks, some great musicians having fun from long ago. Good folk, rock, inspired music. well done even to todays standards, just reading the inside notes, thanks to all who revieved this work of art. |

Master Serie, Vol. 2Search: Uptight by: Johnny Hallyday Release Date May 09, 1997 This album has two of his really superbest songs: "Retiens la nuit" and "Pas cette chanson" (Don't play that song). Retiens is this real beautiful French oldie, that brings back so many memories for someone growing up in the early 60's. And Johnny's still singing - he's been having kind of a comeback in the last 10 years. And the concert by the Eiffel Tower a couple of years back for fantastic! |
