I saw PJ with Alan Parsons and loved his voice. While I don't usually like 90's artists- they are always too concerned with the words and often don't match the music well- PJ is worth the listen. He is great with Parsons if you get a chance go see them.

If you can't find appriciation for bands covering other bands' songs or more specifically how APC covers other bands' songs then you won't be capable of appreciating this album... but you won't know that until you listen to this specific album, right? Personally I don't mind when musicians I admire cover other bands and I admire APC -it's really a pretty simple outlook.

Granted this is not their best album but it's a product of the best supergroup ever created. With members (and former members) of The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Tool it would be more of a task to produce something bad rather than ASTONISHING. Having found more original footing than their earlier attempts at CSN&Y styled folk-rock, Brinsley Schwarz made good on the roots-rock promise of pub rock with their fourth album, "Nervous on the Road." Nick Lowe dominates the 1972 album's songwriting credits, and though he went on to greater fame as a pure popster, he may never have authored such a singularly solid collection of songs. Ian Gomm and Bob Andrews each kick in for one apiece, with Gomm's excellent 50s-styled "It's Been So Long" taking the opening slot. Lowe's songs range from the twangy blue title song to organ-lined soul and country ballads. Of the various 3 CD boxes out there celebrating underground (read: psychedelic, space rock, progressive) music, All Good Clean Fun is probably the least revisited. Much of the Liberty/UA artist stable of the period covering the late '60s through the mid '70s is the collection of bands often considered "space rock"--Hawkwind (represented here by 3 tracks--"Be Yourself," "You Shouldn't Do That" and "The Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear in Smoke)"), Man (including "Manillo," "Daughter of the Fireplace," and "Bananas"), Help Yourself, Can (represented by "Father Cannot Yell" and "Paperhouse"), High Tide, and Motorhead's earliest single, "Iron Horse/Born to Lose" (recorded in 1975, but not released until four years later). I stumbled on this unbelievable jewel. The music is driving modern rock, like...foo fighters, but more diverse and the lyrics are so clever, sometimes funny, and sometimes MEAN that Men Who Smoke just got a spot in my 6 CD changer. Chocked full of hits...these guys will be huge.
