This is a 25th anniversy re-issue of ZZ Top's seminal album, Eliminator. This came out originally my senior year of high school, and with it's combination of music and stylish videos, it was a MAJOR hit at the time. I owned this as a pre-recorded cassette when it was new, and held onto that for a long time. I likely dumped it when I dumped all my old tapes years ago.

But the music has always carried on. It's been cleaned up for this issue, which is a two disc release. The first is the album. The remastering work is really quite good. It sounds great to my ears, and given that I never owned this on CD, it's nice to hear some of the songs that don't get the usual airplay again. Clocking-in at 23 minutes in length - and featuring 4 non-LP tracks - this EP is great value for the money.

* "Grace Under Pressure (edit)" is a nice remix of the album-track. Amusingly, the sing-along nasty word at the end of the song is bleeped (subtley, I'm happy to report).

* "Switching Off" is the same as the great album-version.

* "Waving From Windows" is another understated b-side, very mellow and heartfelt, wonderful.

* "Fugitive Motel (Radio 2 version)" is a very satisfying take on the "Cast Of Thousands" song/single.

* "Grace Under Pressure (live)" is the jewel of this EP, a 5+ minute version of the song that wraps-up with the sing-along capper, great sound quality and emotion.

The music of Queen is legendary and the untimely death of Freddie Mercury was an end to a great life and great music. Sadly, it has been difficult to get a full cohesive collection of all the best music Queen made due to copywriting issues etc. There is no collection out there that will satisfy everyone but this one is the most inclusive and has most of the major hits. It would be awesome to have a collection with the hits plus the best of the album tracks but for now this collection is the best I've found.

The remastering is perfection and it is the best sound quality I've heard yet. Standout tracks for me are BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, DON'T STOP ME NOW, SAVE ME, SOMEBODY TO LOVE, PLAY THE GAME, WE WILL ROCK YOU plus the 3 bonus tracks. Everyone's ... Read More:
