With every new album, Emerald Rose keeps getting better and better. I'm not just referring to the enthusiasm of a fan here, though certainly there is plenty of that; the quality of musicianship, which was never bad, has increased exponentially for this recording.

The very first song, Come to the Dance, pulls the listener in immediately and definitely makes it difficult NOT to dance or at least move around a bit.

Before the Twilight Falls is one of my new Emerald Rose favorites. This haunting love song is full of longing and in-between spaces akin to Ladyhawke, and some of the harmonies just reach in and tug at the heart in ways that really enhance the song.

I was down in South Beach MIA in a real cool record ship I forget the name, but this cd was playing in the store and I had to cop it just from hearing a few songs. I'm honestly not a huge fan of house music, if thats what you'd describe this mix as, but the tracks on here are real cool, all are pretty uptempo but they all have a very laidback vibe about them- always reminds me of Miami, but definitely check this cd out.

I saw Ben spin in NYC at the Bowery Ballroom on Thanksgiving Night 03. This CD reminds of that awesome night and keeps me moving form beginning to end.

This is my favorite compilation in the Beach House series from Hed Kandi. It is hard trying to find a weak track among the 22 spread out over two discs here. It's a nice collection of soulful house music that has a latin vibe to it. Perfect to listen any time of the year, not limited just to summer time. Favorites include Octave One's "Black Water", Julius Papp. Feat Gina Rene on "A Thousand Years", Lazy Grace's reworking of the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love", Miguel Migs "Brand New Day", and more. Great compilation that should have a place in every dance music collection!
