I discovered Greyhaven through its talented founding member and keyboard player, Ethan Matthews, who, since the demise of the band, has started his own solo project called Echo Us. What intrigued me about Greyhaven first was that they were on Angular Records, the label of the amazing prog metal band, Eternity X. Finally I obtained their CD and have enjoyed it immensely. This is very dark prog metal with tons of synths and keyboards, ethereal guitars and a successful rhythm section from a young American band. Keyboardist Ethan Matthews creates waves and layers of ethereal soundscapes and blends them with Nate Howard's characterized lead guitar work. The Big Picture is a great smooth jazz disc. I was captured by the unique sound of the jazz harmonica. That sound fits in so well with the music, yet is so unique & unusual in a classic jazz musical environment. I really enjoyed it.

IV: Constitution of Treason

God Forbid's 4th full-length, "IV: Constitution of Treason", is a step up for this modern metal band. The guitar work this band executes is just flawless, whether it would be melodic solos, leads, or even an occasional breakdown. Plus, every song stands out in its league on this album. The vocals aren't too bad, but the not the best I have heard. However, that doesn't degrade the excellence of the CD by any. With well-written songs like "Chains of Humanity", "End of the World" and "Into The Wasteland", impressive guitar work, and a flowing concept on an apocalypse, how could you resist?

Recommended for fans of Shadows Fall, Arch Enemy, and basically any modern metal.
