It's admirable that these young musicians would pay homage to Arthur,Bryan, and Johnny. However save your ears and money and just buy the real best of package by Rhino called "Love Story". The remake of Alone Again Or on this compilation is the worst I have ever heard. If you want to hear a good remake version listen to The Damned. The performances and musicianship on this album don't stand up to what the songs deserve.

I discovered this cd set on the Soma website about a dozen years ago. I remember many of these groups playing at the Anoka (MN) Armory on Friday and Saturday nights. Liar, Liar - Little Latin Lupe Lu - Let The Good Times Roll - Run-Run-Run. This is good stuff if you like this kind of stuff - and I do. Sound quality isn't 100% in all cases and some of the tunes are a little obscure but, hey!, this was early 60's garage punk...

A lot of the stuff here is remixed from the usuals that you can get from their excellent first album Bloom and the Official release album. Unfortunately it isn't all that great comparatively. It is more listening music and yet it is not.. particularly because none of it really stands out as a song that you'd want to keep playing over and over.
I'd personally skip it and get Bloom instead, and also their debut release album, but not Toolroom nights. Unless, of course, you are a DJ scoping out their mixes, sounds, and beats in particular. I myself am just an avid listener.
When DJs are throwing out all that they have because people want more and more, you get albums just like this from Oakenfold, Tiesto, and ... Read More:

The music from Charlie and Lola's favourite and Best music record is just like the tv show: it's like a collage of sounds (creatively put together) that instantly reminds you of the animated series.
Many of the tracks include dialogues between Charlie and Lola in such a way that they tell you a little story, and the companion music does a perfect job illustrating those stories with sounds: is really nice to hear and at times, fun.
The case contains art like that of Lauren Child's books, and the video included (The Bestest in the Barn) is very pretty and fun to watch.
If you're looking for cheerful, nice, alternative and creative music (suitable for children and even adults) this CD will do the job.

Can is one of those bands that will probably knock your socks off if you think you've heard all there is from the 70's, but never had any experience with this band. Talk about creative and experimental. They also have a very clean sound to their records, and a fresh, yet very twisted approach to the songwriting that makes them one of the coolest bands from the 70's.
Soundtracks is just really great songwriting with a REALLY fresh sound and an ability to be creative at every turn. These guys weren't afraid to try something different, and that's VERY evident when you hear this album. These songs sound so good you just wanna keep hearing the album over and over. That's a sign of a classic band. "Tango Whiskyman" reminds me of ... Read More:

Andrew Freeman takes some favorite blues tunes, adds his unique temperment and style, resulting in a cd that seems to smile. The addition of Kenni Feinberg, and others makes this cd a must have, and The Blue Lamp, the place to be on Tuesday nights.
The perfect gift cd...almost everyone appreciates the blues, and is then surprised that they have not heard of Andrew Freeman.

My son purchased this particular item for me several years ago. I used to play it at intermissions during a course I taught at a local hospital, "Service Excellence." Many people came to me and asked who the artist was because they loved the music.
Over the years, I've ordered several more of Keiko Matsui's albums. They are a wecome diversion from television when I'm working on the computer. They are so peaceful, yet beautiful. My mother was a concert pianist, and I have always had tremendous admiration for the true artists at the piano. I heartily recommend all her albums. She said that the goal of her music was to bring more peace to the world for her children. What a laudable and worthy goal. I intend to order more of her albums ... Read More:

It's now been a decade since the original release of "Sapphire." Matsui's music has energy and passion that grabs our attention and rivets our focus. The bright opener "Safari" is followed by Keiko's lovely piano on "Bouncing Bougainvillea." Valerie Carter, one of the Linda Ronstadt-era vocalists from the 70s, joins on vocals on "Don't Turn On the Light," "Discover these uncharted worlds that hide in you." "Mission" has a pretty piano melody punctuated by seagulls and Indian touches. Karla Bonoff joins for vocals on "Tears from the Sun" in a lovely wistful track with some delightful percussion. "Dragon Wings" is as delightfully lively as watching a dragonfly in motion. "Sapphire" is an excellent set that hold up well a decade after its initial release. ... Read More:
