I have so hard to try to listen to this album. I have carefully listened to it. I know many of you think this is a classic, and even her best album. I have now listened to it nine times, and it's 4½ stars but still not as good as "Pieces of the Sky" or "Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town". There's many great songs again: "Luxury Liner", "(You Never Can Tell) C'est la vie", and "When I Stop Dreaming" for example. Actually, all the songs are great, only "Tulsa Queen" sounds a little bit boring. If you like Emmylou's 70's albums, this is a must for you. Emmylou's voice is just perfect and very touching.

The other reviewer obviously thought this a standard dvd.Guess what?It0s a dvd audio disc ,just like the title states.Please read the ordering info before buying and then making a silly report as above(or is it below?).This is a great multichannel audio version of some of Emmylou's best songs.Great audio,great material.Unfortunately out of print and hard to find.

about the packaging! Listen to the music!
I have read many of the reviews of this collection and totally and absolutely agree about the quality, both of Emmylou's singing and of the choice of input, of this package. To my amateur and tone deaf ear (my wife says) this is one of the most beautiful and moving collections of music that one can hear, in any genre.
Another thing, just look at those photographs in the booklet! Emmylou is such a beautiful woman too; in some pictures those eyes are haunting, beautiful and so deep all at the same time. A great set of photos. I remember sitting quite close and in front of her at Symphony Hall, Birmingham (UK) and I can still see those eyes expressing all the emotion in her songs.

From the tremulous opening notes of the first track, Songbird, I knew this was going to be another Emmylou classic. Spyboy definitely is that but also much more. Every single song on this magnificent album is a treasure, from Songbird to The Maker. The band is perfectly in synch with Harris' voice, and so is the audience. All together these elements create a magical ambience that sticks in the mind.

My favorites on this breathtaking work includes her compelling live version of Green Pastures (with lovely male backing vocal), the most moving Calling My Children Home, done a capella with just male backing vocal (a devotional song of great power), the achingly beautiful Prayer in Open D where she sings solo, Boulder To Birmingham and her almost jazzy version ...
