This is an excellent collection of Billy Joe's wonderful musical work done by him and some of his fans who happen to be outstanding performers in their own right. If you are not a Billy Joe Shaver fan, just listen and you will be.

This CD is excellent, but at times difficult to listen to because of its modern nature. Most of the compositions on the album have distinct compositional techniques developed in the later part of the 20th century, and at times the music becomes so dissonant that it is painful.
However, Lindberg turns in another superb performance. The literature presented is incredibly difficult, and is made even more so by the modern style. As a trombone player, I love Lindberg's style. His tone is amazingly soft and rich, but his technical performance through that sound is so crisp and clean that it is almost unbelievable.

I really enjoy this album--there really is nothing to compare it to in my opinion. I first heard it on our local high school radio station and had to go out and buy it. Her lyrics are political, socially relevent, optimistic, spiritual, and opinionated. Evolution relates the WTO events which took place in Seattle several years ago and contain some hard hitting lyrics. Seperation is a great song about race and diversity presented in a way few of us consider. Although I like all the songs, my favorites are: I call tomorrow, 'til I try, liberation song, do you love, and holy holy. It was suprising to me the optimism of the songs, I didn't expect that to go along with the social relevance of the issues. The first time listening everything ... Read More:

Unspoken is Mr. Finkelmeyer's second CD in a projected series of eight that is intended to build the audience for classical music without dumbing it down. Like Passionately Unstuffed, the first in the series, it is a treat whether or not you habitually listen to classical music. Few of the selections in Unspoken demand the keyboard fireworks that Mr. Finkelmeyer displayed in the first CD, but they all reveal an understanding and feeling that are as impressive and expressive as technique. In some selections the spaces between tones have an eloquence reminiscent of a Miles Davis ballad. In a sense, this is what Unspoken is about; feelings that cannot be spoken or heard. Unspoken will be perfect with a glass of your favorite wine and your favorite ... Read More:

Russell Craig and Paul Beatty take you to a place you've never been before - their world! Populated from beginning to end with songs that leave you wanting to dance or simply fall in love again.
From the positively sky-rocketing "Closer", the fantastically funky remake of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" to the 9/11 tribute song "Commemoration" this album's got everything! Raygun to my head, if I had to pick a favorite, it would either be "Take A Chance" or "'Try-Bro' Bridge". If these two songs don't become radio hits, then Earth is truly doomed!
Feeling alienated - good!. Purchase this CD. Experience the songs. And take a trip from your world - to there's! And remember, their is nothing wrong with your ... Read More:

There's a lot or a little of breakbeat, techno, house, synth-pop, hip hop, reggae, and 70's soul featured in this mix. It's a collaboration of 9 members that make up Bugz in the Attic, and with each one picking a track or two, it makes for a huge variation across the board of musical genres. What is notably missing is any of the genres this group is most known for: deep house, nu jazz, and broken beat. They've gone for something completely different with this mix series that is well known for basically, putting whatever the heck you want on it.
It does make for an enjoyable ride through all the styles of music, hitting some notable tracks like Rammellzee and K Rob's early old school rap, Beat Bop, where they play just about all 10 minutes ... Read More:

I bought this CD while in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany last March, and have listened to it countless times since. It's a great collection of upbeat, instrumental trance tracks that's sure to get any evening off to a good start. The two Rank tracks ("Citrus Juicer" and "Black Snow") are particularly excellent, although it's a shame that a more popular, contemporary track of theirs, "Airwave," didn't make this compilation. Overall a very good collection of trance beats you're unlikely to have heard before anywhere in the U.S.
