This was the last Stereophonics album that I purchased, and I wish that I had gotten it a lot sooner. Magnificent. All of the tracks are well mixed and the clarity of Kelly's vocals is crystal clear. What a sweet album, and by saying that I mean that I'm glad they chose to show some of their heart on it. Performance includes some of the most beautiful songs the group has ever put together in my opinion. Case in point being "Hurry Up and Wait". This song makes sense if you put it into context concerning the state of peoples beliefs in this day and age. I think they are saying be patient and the good things in life will come to you. In the same context is the track "Is Yesterday, Tommorrow, Today?". But I'm not saying that this album ... Read More:

The films from 1930-36 from which these songs were taken include:"King of Jazz," "Reaching for the Moon," "Confessions of a Co-ed," "The Big Broadcast," "College Humor," "Too Much Harmony," "Going Hollywood," "We're not Dressing," "She Loves me not," "Here is my Heart," "Mississippi," "Two for Tonight," "The Big Broadcast of 1936." Bing was best during these years, I believe. Check out "Hollywood Rhythm," a collection of video shorts made in the 1930s too. It has a great short of Bing getting involved with a gal he's never met, who claims to be his fiance. It's where he does "Where the Blue of the night meets the gold of the day." Cheers!

how L'Arc has managed to stay in the music business and continue to put out excellent music. On this cd "True" every band member has a hand in something either in the making of the music or writing the lyrics for a particular song. Sadly, this was the last L'Arc-En-Ciel album with Sakura in it. But just like all previous cds that i've bought by them. They continue to grow and spread their wings as a band with some fine music. Just listen to Fare Well and Caress of Venus or Flower for evidence of that growth.
It does have a light, playful feel to the album. It doesnt detract from the cd overall and its actually a good thing. Because you get to see L'Arc express themselves in a different way this time around on True. It is one of their ... Read More:

Bobby Bare was a significant country singer from the early sixties (when he had major American pop hits with Shame on me and Detroit city, the latter eventually becoming a UK pop hit for Tom Jones) till the early eighties but never quite achieved the status that some of his contemporaries did. Maybe it was just because Bobby was content with life generally and didn't push his career that extra bit, but the consequence is that his music is largely neglected these days.
This is one of three volumes that, between them, include everything that Bobby recorded for Mercury between 1970 and 1972, a period when Bobby recorded many songs by Billie Joe Shaver (with whom he sometimes co-wrote), Kris Kristofferson and Tom T Hall, but he generally avoided ... Read More:
