Having seen the tour in Boston, I was intrigued by the possibility of a live CD from the tour. Was a Lauper and Erasure fan in the 80s, love the Dresden Dolls and discovered The Gossip. VERY dissapointed that this is just a compilation disc with a few unique mixes. Was really hoping to have some new live tracks of some cherished groups. Nothing on here interests me - at least nothing that I wouldn't go to the source (original release) for. I guess it's a fair sampler if you're new to the music.

To tell the truth, I am disappointed. Actually I am not the mad fan of this serial, but main theme by Mandell was so good, that I wanted to receive it as CD track. And so, this theme on a disk is not present!!! There is only a theme "Siuside" song in two variants (that is not bad, but it's not exactly what I want), and also jazz processing of a theme as a bonus. I do not like jazz very much so in my representation the track is not too good in comparison with the original. But, probably, it will not keep real fans of a serial from purchase, as original dialogues are presented on a CD, and it also contains a lot of bonuses.

a good combination of great songs. The choir's voices are sweet and melancholy. If you enjoy the old folk songs, you'll enjoy this cd.

OK, I admit it! I picked up this CD because of the great-looking Ralph Lauren-esque cover art. Lara is gorgeous and not your typical classical pianist. But then I listened to the recording and discovered that she's REALLY not your typical classical pianist! A feisty, swinging musician with a mind of her own, she brings a brand new sound to these terrific American classics. I can't recommend this enough.

I saw April Stace live playing with percussion drums and a bass, the same who are probably featured on this CD. I love the interplay between the instruments. The harp is clearly the main instrument, but the bass comes in and out with delightful riffs and the drums keeps the music flowing.
My favorite is the first and the last pieces, Another Day and All Creatures. "Another day" has a couple of harp melody lines with a syncopation that just pleases my ear and soul. It's quite a delightful and a happy tune. The music seems to sing words itself.
The last piece, "All creatures" is a familar, favorite hymn that's very pleasing and lovely.
I can't saw I've been a fan of harp music. This Cd does not have ... Read More:

First of all, let me say at the outset that audiophiles will NOT like this series from Mavis of Canada as the sound quality is certainly not up to the standards of anything to emanate from the likes of Ace of London, Rhino, Varese-Sarabande, Eric Records, or Collectables. In fact, it tends to waver from barely adequate to satisfactory.
Even so, for those of us who grew up with the hiss and pop of the 78- and then the 45-rpm this is tolerable, and if you gather together all eleven volumes in the series (so far) you will have 297 selections you're not apt to find in too many top-quality releases (so far). Indeed, some you won't find anywhere else as many were minor hits by bona-fide One-Hit Wonders. It is also important to note that ... Read More:
