This disc made my wife very happy. It's every song from the film "Dirty Dancing" in the order that the songs played in the film. Formerly these songs were broken up into two CDs, "Dirty Dancing" and "More Dirty Dancing" (not to be confused with "Dirty Dancing II: Havana Nights). The bonus DVD is a nice addition, if not essential. Fans of the film won't be disappointed, and audiophiles won't be either, the remastering of the older doo-wop tracks is quite well done here.

No one can deny that Dirty Dancing contained great music that really made you want get up and have some fun. This colledtion combines both soundtrack albums released (Dirty Dancing / More Dirty Dancing) with a few bonus tracks previously not available and a small booklet.

Of the bonus tracks, only the extended movie version of "Time Of My Life" is worth much intrest. It's a bit odd that the radio version isn't included as well, but it is nice to hear the full length song for once. The other bonus tracks are instrumental versions of "Time Of My Life" that are actually excerpts from the score instead of full length dubs. One runs 41 seconds, the other 58 seconds. The music to this movie is excellent, but I own the anniversary edition cd with all of the songs/music on one cd. More convenient than having all of the issues and reissues. And the anniv. ed. has all of the tracks in order so they play as it does in the movie. Wonderful.
