Very good performances by various orchestras. There are A LOT of star trek themes in this CD so it may be a little overwhelming to play this CD from start to finish. Tracks #2, #9, and #11 are my favorite. Jerry Goldsmith just does a fantastic job on Star Trek arrangements in general. #9 by Frederic Talgorn is probably the most unique of all the arrangements on the theme and I happened to like his the best. Very nice chord progressions with the high woodwinds and lower strings providing a good pulse to the piece. His ability to interweave the star trek theme towards the end of the piece was also expertly handled. The speed and general pacing of this piece is much faster than the original recording that is played in the end credits of ... Read More:

I bought this CD for the instrumental music from the episode "The Inner Light", which is my processional music at my wedding. But, the rest of the CD is awesome too! It's fun to listen to the memorable musical suites from each incarnation of Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY), and it works as a great background music CD too when you're just trying to unwind. Trekkies will love!

This is a great CD, even if it is outdated (no theme from First Contact, Insurrection or Nemesis.) But this CD is great. The sound effects are annoying, that much we can all agree on, but for those bashing the concert arrangement of the Original Series theme...this is the arrangement by Alexander Courage himself arranged for concert, its performed the same way by John Williams and the Boston Pops on the CD "Out of This World" among other Williams/BPO compilations. I would rank this CD below Silva's "The Star Trek Album" and Varese's "The Ultimate Star Trek", but above Naxos "Star Trek" album. Though, a Star Trek fan should have all of them! and even if your not a star trek fan, this is a good sampler at a cheap price. People selling this for ... Read More:

This is the way S.P.O.C.K should be heard, live with a shouting and raving crowd around. Even still, this album doesn't really gove you the whole and complete S.P.O.C.K live experience, only seeing them for real can do that.
The CD has all of the greastest hits from the first 3 albums and is a monument over the Plasteroid and Cpt. Eddie B. Kirk who left the band after the Earth Orbit Live Tour to concentrate on their other projects, mostly notable is Eddies PAGE whos early 80:s hit "Dansande Man" still is one of the REAL classics of the Swedish synthschene...
Back to S.P.O.C.K...
The only bad thing is that some versions is almost to close to the album versions and, we don't get any talk between the songs, but then again, it was ... Read More:
