I can't belive how bad this cd is.Thank God for Billy Branch, Carl Weathsby and Larry McCray,the only three songs worthy of a listen.Who decided that Robert Johnson Tribute songs should be done as a dance mix??This is a piece of trash.

If you were to look up the term Lightning in a Bottle in the revised Book of Cliches, Hindu Love Gods would be cited first. A truly amazing collection of power three cord riffs and booming percussion provided by R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Bill Berry back up the loud raunchy blues being belted by Warren Zevon. But being a fan of both REM and Zevon has little to do with the enjoyment this effort. If you like your rock raw, bluesy, thigh slapping, head bobbing and driving, get this now!

I thought that Eric Claptons interpretation of Robert Johnson's blues was sensational. The DVD provided an insight to Clapton's deep interest in blues and the artists that influenced his early attraction to this form of music. The numbers demand the most inricate guitar play and the artists accompanying Clapton on guitar are from the top draw. The session filmed in the building in America where Robert Johnson originally recorded the same numbers was particularly evocative and in some ways quite eerie.
Every generation will have its own view on the most appropriate blues interpretation but for me Clapton has somehow captured a special feeling and earthiness that exceeds even that generated in Johsons original numbers.
