I Am Walking: New Native Music

Contrary to the opinion of some of the other reviewers on this page, `I Am Walking' is NOT the best place to start if you're interested in exploring contemporary Native American music. There are several other collections with much better selections of songs and artists that I believe are much more representative of Native American music today. This collection seems geared to fit into some kind of easy-listening market niche and it is markedly non-threatening to say the least. With the exception of a few nice tracks, especially a flute piece by Joseph Fire Crow, `I Am Walking' is hardly worth the money.

This cd is really good. I enjoy most of the songs. "How am I doin" and "what was I thinkin" were huge radio hits, and thus the reason I bought the album, but there are a few more songs that I have really enjoyed.

Looks like there are some CCR purists out there. However, I heard this CD, without knowing its exact providence, and it surely rocks. There are some major extended groove jams that kick arse. Very nice doble cd, adale!

Outstanding and powerful live recording, capturing one of the last Creedence Clearwater Revival tour in 1971. Working as a trio, after departure of Tom Fogerty, the remaining John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, were playing for the life of the group (as there would be no tomorrow, somebody has said) with such energy one tends to forget there were only three people on stage. This German edition not only outcases such hits as Born on the Bayou, Green River and Travelin' Band, but it also has two bonus and superb songs from the Mardi Grass album: Door to Door and Sweet Hitch-Hiker. Just listen! This maybe C.C.R. / John Fogerty best live recording ever!
