I was surprised and disappointed to find only two (nicely written) reviews for this outstanding album, as it seems indicative of the "missing audience" overlooking a proverbial diamond in the rough.

So I'm writing to up the review total to "3", in the hope that "3" is indeed the magic number - and that the magic attracts new sets of ears to Neil Finn's brilliant songcraft, easily discovered on tracks such as "She Called Up", "Nobody Wants To", and "Pour le Monde" - a subtle, yet powerful anti-war song that broke my heart with the very first listen.

I had to spend some time with this album in order to fall in love. I am a HUGE Neil Finn & Split Enz fan, never truly catching on to the Crowded House frenzy...however... I always appreciated them. So, two months into owning this album, I can now give it a very favorable review. It is a departure from Neil's solo work, but not a far cry. The standout tracks for me are People Are Like Suns, Pour Le Monde, Say That Again and English Trees, however, the most "Crowded House-like" songs (and equally as good) are Nobody Wants To, Don't Stop Now and She Called Up. This is an album that grows on you, not an easy fix to an immediate need... more like a warm blanket that casually envelops you.

Amazing fast guitars and drums, with great pop melodies and lyrics. This band was one of the great live acts in Australia during the 1980s. Wrong place, wrong time. A few years earlier or later in the USA or UK and they would have been far more well known. The first CD contains some of the best punk-inspired power pop I've heard. Play it loud, and if you're in the car, watch your speed, because it's likely to creep up without you noticing it.

out of all my chill vibe discs, which includes bargrooves, afterdark, ambient lounge, and many others, this comes in tied as my favorite along with only a few others.. and this isn't chill while listening you don't pay attention and fall asleep.. this chill is pumping! don't hesitate to get it it.. hopefully this guy will make more..
