The reviewer below, who belongs to the small dedicated contingent of historical collectors here at Amazon, offers a run-down of this 6-CD set that's frequently at odds with what I hear. Since the DG complete Beethoven series was a major enterprise, I thought it worthwhile to give a different take on this hodge-podge of historical reissues.

CD 1. A wartime (i.e., Nazi) recording may still be distrasteful to some listeners. In any event this 1941 Schuricht/BPO "Eroica" is in reasonably good sound, cleaned up within an inch of its life, which took out too many high frequencies. Mountain Music of Peru, Vol. 1

Most of the songs were recorded in mountain villages in 1964. I was hoping for more music from dedicated musicians. There are a couple of songs copied from 45s bought in an Indian market in Lima, but even these are very rough and raw. Perhaps there's material here for a Moby of Peruvian music, but its not for the average consumer's ears. One "Song of Marraige," sung by a young girl, was included on the Voyager spacecraft as one the of the "Sounds of Earth." The lyric in the linear note translates it as a bitter, but humorous, complaint of a girl who is tricked into attending her own wedding.

Don't buy this lame nu-metal wannabe hard junk. Every single band in this nu-metal scene all sound like rip offs of each other and they just plain suc. No talent, just screaming and double bass. Can't even understand lyrics and all. If you want a new descent metal album get the new Megadeth, Madball, or even the new Biohazard. These bands mentioned are original unlike As I Lay Whacking.

while spending holiday in sweden with my great friend jonas, i had the opportunity to see and do a many interesting thing. included in such an adventure was the sights of the wonderful city of mariestad, djupneskar, orange horses, snaps, ham and cheese in a tube and mora the home of the largest cross country skiing venue in the world. i was also able to take in the sounds of some wonderful music - that is unholy. while driving somewhere (perhaps filipstad) we heard the gracious sounds of the song "daybreak". the song has the melodic singing voice of muhli that really inspired me to purchase the cd "gracefallen". for the most part the music is extremely well done. those songs led by muhli are spectacular. it is kind of a cross between enya and ...
