"All The King's Men," along with its sister album "All The King's Horses" is the latest
studio release from the ever-prolific Legendary Pink Dots. While it really is a good album
if you think about it, ultimately it comes off as a bit unsatisfying and disappointing. "All
The King's Horses" I would say is the superior album, and to compare "...Men" to
relatively recent releases, it ranks in my estimation quite a ways below "A Perfect
Mystery," and "Nemesis Online." Going back chronologically, I'd say it's the worst
full-length album of new material since 1988's "The Golden Age," which I didn't think
was that great.

I picked up this Import Version recently, drawn specifically to
the European Edition that includes several songs, notably "Why" and "We have no secrets" that are not included in the U.S. Copy.
Those 2 songs are necessary to Bring the CD to 5 Stars, of course the U.S. edition is very good, but this Reviewer prefers to pay up for Quality when it matters. Now, Purists may Miss "Attitude Dancing" or "Devoted to You" (By the way, if You buy "Playing Possum" for the Smoking Hot photo of Carly on the CD Cover, which I could understand, and indeed, ratify, You would get "Attitude Dancing" and other good songs with that CD) but those are Carly's weakest 2 Hits, by far, the 2 songs I cited above are far superior ("Why" was an International Hit)...That ...
