It is amazing. You get Disorderly Conduct, the lost Amen album, a TON of demos and b-sides (most worthy of an album themselves). Così fan TutteSearch: Torture Me from: Sony Release Date October 20, 1998 This recording is an important historical document of the 1951 Metropolitan Opera production designed by Rolf Gerard and directed by Alfred Lunt (of Broadway's famous Lunt and Fontaine.) One of Sir Rudolf Bing's early successes, it lasted all the way up to 1981, and was repeated 70 times. This production was part of the 1950's trend of making opera more accessible to the Metropolitan public by using an English singing version with some Broadway zip, this one by the ubiquitous Ruth and Thomas Martin, published in the G. Schirmer score. For all of you opera workshop folks singing and staging scenes from Cosi: there are some discrepancies in the text between this recording and that score, so take note! This is the most beautiful acapella singing you will hear. For a serious musician, this will inspire you no matter what you play or what part you sing. If you are a novice, you will be comforted in the beautiful harmonies. If you are interested in anthropology or the study of languages, then you will enjoy this album because all the lyrics are in the liner notes including English translations. The origin of each song is also reported (mostly Irish, Scottish, Gaelic). Listening to this album instantly brings me back to the misty Cliffs of Moher or to the majestic Isle of Skye. It is gorgeous. |

Cryin', Lovin', Leavin'Search: Torture Me by: Marty Brown Release Date April 26, 1994 this is a must have for any of you marty brown fans out there as i know there is many, i have all of his albums, and wouldnt take anything for them. he is such an awsome singer, he sings from his heart and soul, that is what got me - his voice he reminds me alot of hank williams sr, high and dry is the best song i have ever heard from his first album. all of these songs are great to. i sure do wish marty would come back and make some new albums. we sure could use his voice, when in this day and time the pop country seems to over take the real stuff. he will always be my favorite artist of all time. once again marty come back to us. kellysherman |
