Search: Too Much
by: Kansas City Kitty & Georgia Tom

Release Date September 08, 2000
Seeing as how these come from 78's the sound isn't all too great but nevertheless it's fun music. Kansas City Kitty and Georgia Tom have a bunch of energy and sass. A lot of these songs are just downright catchy like the simple Do it Myself, You Got that Stuff, and Gym's too Much for Me - a funny song which begins with Kansas whining about taking gym classes, then out of nowhere she starts to talk about liquor. Who Kansas City Kitty was is unclear, the linear notes point that out. Georgia Tom later became involved with Mahalia Jackson's career.

by: Les Elgart

Release Date April 21, 1998
If you're a Les Elgart fan, you'll love this CD. I bought most of his albums in the 1950s and 1960s, and they got scratched. Of course there's no comparison between a CD and the old album on sound quality. Lots of great songs on this CD worth listening to. I'm glad the CDs are available for this great band of the 50s to 80s era.

Doctor Who, Vol. 4: Meglos And Full Circle

Search: Too Much
by: Various Artists

Release Date June 11, 2002
Following up directly on the heels of The Leisure Hive, DWATBRW: Volume 4 contains two previously unreleased scores: Meglos and Full Circle. Meglos is a mostly forgetable story featuring an alien cactus's plot to harness the energy of Ty, while Full Circle deals with a genetic puzzle between the races on a swamp plannet.

Meglos's score is a bit of a mixed bag considering two composers worked on it (the only time this ever happened in Doctor Who). Part One's music was written by Paddy Kingsland, whose most famous work up to that point was The Hitchiker's Guide to The Galaxy. Peter Howell takes over from Part Two on, but Howell's style (voltage control, punctured by rhythmic shifts) doesn't go very well with Kingsland's {accoustic, ... Read More:

Search: Too Much
by: Gloria Scott

Release Date May 20, 2003
How does this remarkable little album still remain unknown? I found it recently on an obscure label in a CD Store and grabbed it, as the legendary prices it commanded on Ebay were common knowledge to followers of the neo-soul movement.

For newcomers to the album, this album was released in 1974 in limited quantities on vinyl, and to date is vocalist Gloria Scott's only album (no one knows what happened to her either). As the only album she recorded, it failed within the US, but for some reason developed a cult following in Europe, and strangely enough, in Japan. In fact, the Japanese audience was sizable enough that the first ever CD release of this happened only within Japan.

Cut to 2003, when Mercury Records finally ... Read More:
