Search: Too High
by: NoMeansno

Release Date September 19, 2000
NoMeansNo is probably the tightest, bass-driven band since Fishbone, and this album continues to prove how NoMeansNo is simply uncategorizable. Is this punk? Well, a trio version of Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" might make you think twice about calling them that. I've even heard some people try to label this as "jazzcore," but quite simply put, NoMeansNo is a trio of tightly wound musicians who are often quite dark and ominous, but play music that is intriguing on many different levels.

Though I think _One_ is not quite the masterpiece that _Dance of the Headless Bourgeoisie_ was, there are a lot of strong songs on this particular output. I mentioned earlier their version of "Bitches Brew," but even more stunning is their version ... Read More:

I expected to receive the entire performance. What I received was one CD out of a two CD set. Fortunately, it contained the one piece that I was most interested in, but I feel cheated. This is the second time this happened with Amazon. I will take my business elsewhere.

This is such fun to listen to! My 6 year old daughter loves to sing along to the songs she knows. A favorite in our family, very enjoyable. We like that each song is short and there's lots of variety.

Don't Say You Don't Remember Beverly Bremers

Search: Too High
by: Beverly Bremers

Release Date December 01, 2005
The title track on this CD has been one of my favorite songs for several decades now. On this new release Ms.Bremers does a wonderful job of updating this classic song as well as sharing a CD full of her own originals. She is a fine singer and this Cd covers many genres of music well. If you are a fan of Beverly Bremers or even just a fan of good music, I would recommend you pick this one up.

Release Date September 15, 1998
I partied to the music spinned by Farley, Frankie Knuckles, and Ron Hardy just to name a few, back in the day. I am a Born-Again Christian now, just like Farley, and to hear the LORD being praised through this GospelHouse compilation is very refreshing. Farley still has the skills! Keep praising HIS NAME!

Search: Too High
by: Earl Slick

Release Date May 01, 1998
Because this CD contains many of the songs that were on the original "Slick Band" LP, I was excited to see this release. The arrangements on this CD are vastly different from those on the LP. A different lead vocalist was the biggest disappointment to me. I'd always though that Jimmie Mack's vocals were the perfect match to the music/lyrics. As much as I was disappointed after my first listen, this is still a good record and I'm glad I bought it-it's just not what I was expecting. But, as I first opened up the website, I see "Slick Band" is now available, compiled with Razor Sharp on an import release. I guess Amazon.com gets a little more of my money..........

Atomic Platters: Cold War Music from the Golden Age

Search: Too High
by: Various Artists

Release Date August 08, 2005
There simply is no collection of nuclear war kitsch out there as breathtaking and complete as the Atomic Platters set. With five CDs of Public Service Annoucements and music, an attractive coffee table book filled with pictures of Civil Defense pamphlets and Cold War miscellena, and on top of all that, a DVD of unintentionally hilarious government propaganda films, including the iconic "Duck and Cover" film for schoolchildren, this package is unbelievable!

Well worth the cost outlay for true collectors. Highly recommended.
