Back in the 1960's I first saw an album by Francoise Hardy titled "Maid In France"! The album cover photo alone would make anyone love Francoise Hardy. This CD, "All Over The World" contains early 1960's recordings exclusively. . . and all of them are phenomenal musical experiences. The title song, "All Over The World" is a most melancholy haunting melody and lyric made ever more soul touching by Francoise's "lonely girl" vocal, in english. "This Little Heart" is an up-tempo "Buddy Holly style" song you'll find yourself singing along with. . . and humming to yourself long after you take the CD out of the player. And if you remember Perry Como's "Catch A Falling Star" well, forget about it. . . Francoise will give you an entirely different ... Read More:

Fantastic songs (especially disc 2) by the amazing Francoise Hardy.
Her writing and voice are pure like snow and America only had the Kapp
records subsidiary "4 Corners" to market her music.
They failed miserably at getting her to our attention. They fared a bit better with Raymond LaFevre and his great cover version of Soul Coaxing (Ame Caline).
This CD is a must buy as a start to introduce this interesting facet of 60's pop music that possibly influenced Marc Bolin and other Radio Caroline listeners. Get it!!!
Audio quality is compressed but bearable.

A truly remarkable album containing most of my personal favorites from Hardy. I grew up listening to her, and would probably die doing the same. If you favor words like "timeless" and phrases like "not bound by the boundaries of contemporary fashions", than I advise you to give Francois Hardy- and especially this album a try. The other album of her's that I highly regard is called "all over the world" The tone is sometimes melancholic and sombre, but there are good reasons for that. The words are about love and life, and sometimes can be taken for philosphical. I consider her music an essential part of my life.
Highly recommended!

This is a real find. Françoise Hardy performs 16 really great songs excellently. These songs are from her 1960s period; they are moody, subtle, and utterly delightful. While it helps to know French to appreciate the subtleties, their range and tunefulness make them worth listening to, irregardless. "Tous les garçons et les filles," "Mon ami, la rose," and "Les temps de amour" are really good. Françoise had to have been the coolest singer of her time.

Most guys would like to have a sister like FRANCOISE HARDY who is often blue but also romantic and has a way for making you feel good.In her early days, FRANCOISE was shy but that was part of her charm and somehow she always manages to let you go into her spider web.Melancholia can be fun to she tells us in many songs like LA MAISON OU J'AI GRANDI and COMMENT TE DIRE ADIEU which is also the title of her best album of that time.At 55 FRANCOISE is still going strong even though she has stop touring a long time ago
