Well, I was not expecting to like this one. Its SO old, and very classic (Rodgers and Hart.) But one good thing about it being Rodgers and Hart, is it has lovely lyrics. Clever and witty on every song. Mark Twains book was done justice I think, but I've never read the book. I would suggest this to classic lovers, and newer Broadway fans who want to hear a`"classic" other than Oklahoma. This is a good one. The other great thing about this CD is you get not only A Connecticut Yankee, but also highlights from two other Rodgers and Hart musicals: Higher and Higher and By Jupiter. AWSOME. Favorite Song: "To Keep My Love Alive"

Rodgers and Hart had a lighter side as well and it is well represented here by the songs - "He and She", "To Keep My Love Alive", and "Why Can't I" - which have that magic Hart touch. Favourites like "Where Or When"(Rogers favourite song of all that he wrote with Larry),"Bewitched", "Spring Is Here", and "I Didn't Know What Time It Was"(one of the greatest love songs of all time)are here. I will be looking for more of the Johnny Howard Band! This is all instrumental sound--smooth, gorgeous, and nicely danceable. Yes, every track makes me want to dance! The tempos are appropriate to the suggested dance.

This compilation is by the Dennon Music Group, and produced in 2005. Sadly, they don't give us any hint about when the recordings were made. There are no notes about the band. They omit any record of the tempo. All we find in the liner is the title, author, and copyright holder. Oh, please give us some decent discography!
