San Francisco's best Circuit DJ follows up his tremendous CIRCUIT GROOVES 9.1 with 10.1, a true triumph. He was the Master of Metropolis and now he's the master of the Circuit Scene.
CIRCUIT GROOVES 10.1 is a non-stop thill ride that stars with strong energetic vocal house to set the mood, strong tribal vocal house to get the journey moving and smooth vocal trance to put us over the edge. There are tons of must have tracks on this CD i'd not found anywhere else. This is the DJ who broke bands like Trouser Enthusiasts, Sonique, DJ Jurger, Emma Shapplin. Just check this track lising out, and you'll know who the next big artists are. Amazing! Looking forward to Circuit Grooves 11.1

The Herbaliser are a Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop duo from the UK, and listening to their new CD "Same as it never was" is like stepping back into the seventies to some Blaxploitation movie. Loads of horns, groovy basslines and funky beats.
Opening is the title track which is largely a funky instrumental with darting horns, organ and an incredible bassline. There are 3 other instrumentals; "The next spot" (with an almost Afrobeat feel), the awesome "Amores Bongo" (a delightful guitar/horn/percussion mix that sounds like it should be some movie soundtrack), and the more mellow "Blackwater drive".
Five songs feature vocalist Jessica Darling, "On your knees", "Can't help this feeling", "You're not all that", "Clap your hands" (these ... Read More:

Wow what a stunner! Best LP I've bought in a good long time. I came to Jazzanova late but made up for lost time. For me this is easily their best work which is saying a lot. If you like Jazzanova you will love this. I insist you buy it right now! Is it NuJazz? NuJazzSoul? New Electronica-Jazz? Nu Jazz-Hop? Electronica Soul-Hop? As I listen to it it now... I'm still in awe... Excelsior playing now... It is indisputably modern, but rarely challenging. There is a crispness about Jazzanova... That Berlin edge? It's like they love Jazz but refuse to be retro-dated. Thinking people's Electronica? No flash in the pan beats or slick plastic pop here. The 'In the (Re)mix" lyric "And you wonder why it's takin' a fall?" seems to speak directly to this point. I've ... Read More:

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this before. It's been 5 years since the release of "Trip..." and I still listen to it. I was so glad to see these guys fins success and disappointed to see them part ways. I have followed them in their other projects since and they are doinq quite well.
If you don't have this CD, BUT IT NOW! They aren't that expensive and it will be the best $2.00 you spent in a long while.
Rivera has a very distinct sound...and while it's pumpin it's easier digested in small doses when it's his instrumental stuff. Disc one, while consisting of quite a few of his billboard dance chart hits, is way too much of his signature funky house sound with no vocals, except for track 9. Not to mention, this isn't a mix CD, but it's also not a segmented CD. The tracks aren't beat mixed together, but basically overlap each other, sort of like listening to crossfade on your ipod. It's just awful. Disc 2 is disco house oriented with soulful, gospel feeling vocals, and the music is just as slammin as the vocals. Here, tracks are interspersed with his instrumental stuff, and the ... Read More:
