An awesome Christmas CD by Bryan Duncan. He doesn't put out much new music so this was a wonderful surprise to find it on Amazon. He is truly a gifted singer. I would definately recommend this to anyone who loves great singing!

Perfect as a gift for those who remember when. CD has many classic Christmas hits still heard today during the holidays. Enjoyed an afternoon at home reminiscing with Mom and Dad who were youngsters when this music was popular.

Christmas Songs by Sinatra is a compilation of Christmas songs recorded by Frankie during the '40s and released as a series of 78s. With lush arrangements by Frankie's Columbia mainstay Axel Stordahl, these fifteen songs capture a Sinatra slowly evolving from "boy singer" with Harry James in 1939 and with Tommy Dorsey in 1940-42 to confident swinger by the early 1950s shortly before Sinatra left Columbia for Capitol (the tracks were recorded between '44 and '50).
Opening the set is a slow, mellow cover of "White Christmas," made famous by Bing Crosby in Holiday Inn. To be fair, Frankie's version is fairly similar, buoyed by the Bobby Tucker Singers. Next up is Silent Night, with a soft, haunting bell introduction. The Ken Lane singers ... Read More:

There are a lot of Sinatra packages available from the Columbia years of 43-52...but how can you do without the complete recordings ? The Columbia years is when Frank was at his romantic best. Smooth voice , smooth tracks , not a clinker in the lot !

Recorded Christmas music first became popular in the 1940's following the success of Bing Crosby's original version of White Christmas. This British budget collection containing fifty Christmas recordings of the era is as good as anything you are likely to find, especially at the price.
Despite this being a budget release, the sound quality is good (not always perfect) and there are some liner notes that include they year in which each track is recorded - the dates range from 1939 to 1951.
