The instrumentation and internal band dynamic is obviously different, but this band came out of the blues as The Rolling Stones did. The guitarists are cleaner and less imaginative than in the Stones' early work, bandstand and studio equipment have improved and savvy players know the world's tired of covers as straight out of Chicago blues as those of young Mick and the boys, but the resultant feeling's quite similar. It leads to respect for Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and T-Bone Walker and some feeling that The Miller Brothers are their heirs

I've recently been mining the eighties looking for lost, smiths-era gems, and this is one of the best I've found, along with The Weather Prophets Blue Skies and Free Rides and Alan McGee's Biff Bang Pow. I don't agree with the other reviewers analogy to the TV Personalities. I do hear a definite postcard label influence--Orange Juice and Josef K., with the expected sensitive, intelligent lyrics of a Smiths-era indie band. If I remember right, they were included on NME's famed C-86 cassette, but they're much edgier than the Shop Assistants and early Primal Scream. In fact, twee music with an edge might serve as an apt description of their sound. Recommended for all with an interest in 80s indie pop.

Beautiful compilation. Another one with magic stuff from Sarah Records, home of one of the most beautiful sound castles of our era. It was 80's and early 90's then, i was young and i hope i'll be really old and someday and capable of hearing this Byrdsy-Velvetian-Arthur Lee's Love jangle pop. Orange skies garanteed for fans of Razorcuts and the Field Mice or if you don't know these ones either, check them out. Pure ear candy.

To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I know you won't believe this but Stevie C used to rock, but Jimmy Miller and too many nights at the piano bar have softened this once promising artist. Stevie, please bring back the days of "I Feel You Momma".

I did not enjoy this album and only got $.25 when I returned it to the used CD store.

I was pretty impressed purchasing music from Amazon for the first time. Easy, quick, great price. Got exactly the music I wanted.

Really bummed out with the Amazon downloader, though. Why, WHY, do I have to download more junk just to download songs when I (as does everyone else) already have so many music and download apps already loaded? Then, since it defaults to putting the music in Itunes, and Itunes came up with a message that there was an update to download, the Amazon downloader wasn't able to save my first 6 songs! Good thing I work with computers all the time and was able to find where they actually went. I don't think the average computer user would have been able to find them. C'mon Amazon! Keep it simple!
