I love all the tracks on this CD, but "Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts" alone is worth the price. Tenor Dean Wilder approaches this ancient hymn simply, allowing his magnificent voice to convey the affirmation of God's truth.

While I wish he had recorded all five verses, the three that he sings make a stunning impact. Normally, "selected verses" means leaving out middle ones, and include the "wrap-up." Not so Wilder's arrangement. He sings the first three. Instead of winding up to a blast as do so many arrangements of hymns, Wilder shifts the key up and backs way out on "We taste Thee, O Thou Living Bread, and long to feed upon Thee still; We drink of Thee, our Fountainhead, and thirst, our souls from Thee to fill."
