There are enough tracks here to make the buy worthwhile, if you're buying at a discount from the release price. The short organ/intro clips are too short, however. I think some songs would be "game good" and others would be "practice stuff" for a sports team. Some songs will seem dated by the current generation of athletes.

There is nothing like listening to a movie soundtrack, from the ORIGINAL
FILM, especially THIS film, released on June 16, 1975!!!! No changes or doctoring up can deliver the TRUE experience of such a film!! "JAWS" was the first blockbuster released in 1975 that brought in over "100" million dollars,at that time. And I do remember because I saw the film on it's release date, in a movie theater in THE FRONT ROW. Talk about being scared, hearing the "duh, duh, duh - shark theme in front of your face, is something I will never forget - and no newer version will do any justice to THAT experience as a filmgoer.
Peter Benchley's book was very different, EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST 3&1/2 PAGES - THOSE PAGES WERE THE "ESSENCE" OF THE FILM, ... Read More:

I would have to say that this is a wonderful tool for a soundtrack lover like me. Almost every theme is something really above the norm. Some, like "Out of Africa" and "Dances with Wolves" make me sadly reminiscent for some reason. Others, like the "Godfather II," "Lawrence of Arabia," "Colors of the Wind," (from Pocohontas)and "Best Years of Our Lives" really lift the spirit as you're just wrapped up in their lovely music. The only changes I would make would be the removal of the theme from "Jaws" which, though good, becomes grating on the nerves. Also, I think it's a real shame that the Themes from "Schindler's List" and "Doctor Zhivago" aren't on here, as I find them true classics. However, this CD deserves the highest rating possible!!!
