cd compilation of two previous lps of galt macdermot's more minor releases (he composed Hair, apparently), which while it may not be a long lost classic unearthed is worth hearing. my only real qualm with this is in between some pretty nice tracks like ripped open by metal explosions and lost dreams, you get utterly bizarre inclusions like a radio ad for skin balm(?) and some real monkey-organ-grinder sounding stuff. a little programming here and there though, and you've got yourself a significantly shorter but pretty funky little disc.

Trouble Man

This is an amazing album that gives insight into the true musical genius that was Marvin Gaye. This cd should definitely be categorized as jazz-funk. Throughout the cd you will hear teases of the trouble man theme/riff. "T plays it cool" is a song that blew my mind when I heard it, it sounded like a hip-hop sample (but much better), it is a great song to cruise to (interpret that anyway you want). The cd has a great mix of songs using piano and moog synth, Don't mess with Mr. T is an incredible song that had me wondering where it had been all my life. You must get this cd if: you are a Marvin Gaye fan, you are a fan of funk,jazz,soul,etc. or if YOU LOVE GOOD MUSIC.

Marvin Gaye made His Genius known for His Slow Jams&Mid tempo cuts or Feel Good Pop Songs that had a Church Feel to them but with a General feel overall,but this Compilation showcases the Funk&Groove side to Marvin Gaye that is often overlooked within His Work."got To give it up" alone is a Monster Jam."Funk Me" is a tight Jam as well.there were many sides to this Musical Giant that aren't always given there fair due to me overall.

Another Late Night

This deserves 4 stars at least!

If you loved Fila Brazillia's remixes (Sneaker Pimps, UNKLE etc) then this won't let you down.

It is such an awesome late night mix, it's perfect to even have in the background while you're doing something else.

the tracks that stand out the most : John Barry - The persuaders theme / Homelife - firefly / Marvin Gaye - T plays it cool / Kelis - suspended.

just these alone are worth the price!

this CD has been in my regular rotation since 2003!

it really shines at night! it's so, so smooth..

buy it, you won't regret it :)
