I'm surprised to see that I'm the first person to review this amazing work of art. CT CPTV was running a fundraiser when I happend to tune through and catch Hayley Westenra start to sing Lascia Ch`Io Pianga.

This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my life. It's from Handel's Opera Rinaldo, and translates "Let me Weep".

Well, if you don't do so after the first two phrases you're made of sterner stuff than I am.

The entire album is astonishing in every way. The DVD is equally so. Both are monumental tributes to womanhood

... once in a lifetime.

This is a wonderful CD containing a variety of traditional Irish, classical and contemporary music. The majority contains vocals by some of the most talented soloists Ireland has to offer, but some of the tracks are fantastic instrumental numbers by the groups violinist, Mairead Nesbitt. She will delight you with her traditional sound and her mastery of the instrument.

from the DVD. Missing was "Somewhere", "Ceili" and others. This CD sounds like it was produced in the studio and not taken directly from the DVD, which is marvelous. It lacks the spontaneity(sp?) of the live version.

To clarify the review by "C. Mallesky": I ordered this set for my wife as she had heard Celtic Woman while at a friends house and I decided to get her all of their albums for a cheaper price than buying them each separately. Albeit, this is not a true box set, but instead you will get each album in their own jewel case and all inserts included. You do not just get the CDs alone. Think of it as going to a local retailer and purchasing each CD separately. Overall, a good deal if you want to pick up all of their albums.
