Alan Silvestri has an extreme talent for writing a knockout theme and is one of the best action music composers in film music, next to Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner. Most of the music contains driving chase music complete with booming brass and percussion, especially marching snare drums. The first track is the actual main title music that Silvestri wrote for the film, but it ended up being replaced. Don't be upset if you don't start immediately hearing a knockout theme that you would expect to hear. That comes later. Damaged has the heaviest riffs I have ever heard, the drummer is faster than Flo from cryptopsy, and the vocalist sounds psychotic(cool!). This band has a lot of diversity. This is without a doubt one of the heaviest bands in the world!

this is a very clean and smooth record from start to finish. very smooth solos, riffs and chord progressions. the melodies are genius when taken in context with the guitar parts (which rarely correspond to the melody, and instead provide a solid backbone for it). and of course his voice is simple and classic. among the best records of all time in my opinion.

First a disclaimer - I'm a Barenaked Ladies fan.

I bought this CD for my nephew who just turned 3 (he has a brother age 7). The review I got from mum was "oh my god, they love it!" They love to sing along (as does mum) and as of this week (1.5 weeks after arriving) they won't let her get past the first 2 songs (7,8,9 & Ninja song.) They keep wanting to play these 2 over and over again -- so be warned mums and dads - it might get repetitive initially. Being a Pierre Burton fan I bought this CD for the Pollywog song. My nephews are Canadian.

Can't wait to hear what they have to say when they get to the rest of the album! Rock on Barenaked Ladies!

I would recommend this CD to someone who isn't looking for instant satisfaction out of an album but something that grows on you with more listens. I think the out come is more enjoyable if you have to work for it. I had the same experience with weirdo rippers.

This album has a warm, fuzzy, and happy ambience. Its filled with cryptic lyrics and naive sounding vocals. The distorted noise that seems initially to be an annoyance will eventually move into the background and the melodies will start to surface.

I'm not a critic but I love music and this satisfies my fix. It never sounds too familiar. I love listening to music that isn't completely predictable and this would be that.
