Jurassic 5 is one of a number of hip-hop groups out right now attempting to rekindle the vibe of the early 90's, and they are probally doing it best. If you are looking for "lyrically lyrical lyrics," this may not be for you; however, all 5 emcees come of with great flows that fit perfectly into what they are trying to do. And you know Cut Chemist and DJ Numark are providing the heat when it comes to beats. This ish is so good, you won't even mind the Nelly Furtado appearance.

The Five were one of the most successful recent collectives who brought back the seldom heard, unabashed old-school hip hop style centered more around unadulterated flow, fun, and positivity- a glaring contrast to the vast majority of grim faux-street cool depressants out there. The group of hungry emcees do not waste much time, tearing into their rhymes with a love for the syllable and usually enduring samples, forgetting to act cool and simply being it by selflessly honing delivery.

If the title of the box was too ambiguous for some, the titles of the songs will clear up all confusion. "Hold The Pussy", "Punnany", "Play With Your Pussy", "Pussy Catch A Fire", "Action Wood" and "Cock Stiff And Hard" spell out all you need to know about this collection.

As far as the music goes, it's top notch and it includes various luminaries such as Max Romeo, Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry (this dirty dog shows up on 5 cuts), Desmond Dekker and Derrick Morgan.

The music connoisseur will want to pay special attention to Max Romeo's "I Wanna Play With Your Pussy" and Lightning Hopkins' "I Wanna Play With You Poodle". They both claim to be devoted pet lovers but are these the kind of men who ought to be trusted with your daughter? ... Read More:

There are no major hidden gems on this collection but it is a fun and certainly obscure collection of 1950's "Hot Rod" rock 'n roll tunes from one-song wonders (these might've been one-week hits in some small town :-)

Most of them fall into the garage surf music style - some more straightforward rock ' n roll though Buddy Holly's lawyers might quibble that changing the lyrics does not make a new song :-) there are also a few r&b and rockabilly tracks.

If you're a competist, you'll want this set as there are only a handful of inept tracks - most are solid surf, rockabilly songs of the 1950's. If you perform 50's rock ' roll tunes at hot rod shows, you'll want this CD and you should be able to learn these songs in 2 minutes.
