One word: chills. Even a non-fan of Muse will have a tough time making it through the opening "Knights of Cydonia" without being swept away by the blistering energy. If you have had the fortune of seeing this remarkable band live, this set does a fine job capturing some of the incredible power they bring to the stage, and has proven a fine way to introduce the uninitiated to what live acts aspire to inspire.

The DVD does a far better job of lifting off (the Prokofiev from "Romeo and Juliet," while a lovely musical nod to introduce the band and the first song, is an over-long and somewhat baffling opening track on the CD), but both discs keep you riveted to the ending chords of "Take a Bow." I am incredibly impressed with a band that can sound so great live. The vocals are incredible, the lyrics amusing, and the riffs energetic. Muse is somewhat like a peppier Radiohead-- if you are a Thom Yorke fan I suggest you give it a try. I run to this album, and it gets me going for almost an extra mile :) Amazon's mp3 downloader thingy kicks the pants off of itunes. No DRM!

In a sea of mediocrity, Muse has come to show us that rock is alive and well. While previous Muse releases were also excellent- namely, Absolution and Origin of Symmetry- they both suffered from some weak tracks pockmarked in between the great ones.

Black Holes and Revelations, however, is almost perfect; it's brash, witty, and gloriously over-the-top. The band flawlessly imbues pop, classical, metal, disco, salsa, electronic, and opera into one grand, sensational album.

Musically, this is easily the band's best album, and one that puts most other bands to shame. Thanks to Matt Bellamy's virtuoso musicianship and incredible operatic vocals, Muse's ingenuity outshines many of today's hardest-rocking bands.

great band, great music. DVD with "old" hits is a bonus but i can only watch it in computer 'cos Im in Iceland but this one is for US and Canada - Anyway, my mistake!
I cannot say this cd is the best from Muse so far but whatever, all of them are good. Bellamy is a genious, no doubt.

great band, great music. DVD with "old" hits is a bonus but i can only watch it in computer 'cos Im in Iceland but this one is for US and Canada - Anyway, my mistake!
I cannot say this cd is the best from Muse so far but whatever, all of them are good. Bellamy is a genious, no doubt.
