I am a huge ALW fan and I was really excited for this cd. I guess I didn't read the description close enough because only half (if that)of the songs on the cd are sung. I was hoping that there would be more songs sung by opera stars. Most of the tracks feature Julian Webber. Don't get me wrong, he is very good, but not what I was expecting. The cd is great, but would have been better with more singing!!

What a horrible CD! Now granted I only listened to ALW because I could not bring myself to see the other two trashed. Starlight Express is done without words, and while I can see that in many musicals not on Pumping Iron! The lady singing Evita sings worse than I do and believe me you do not want to hear me sing. The guy singing Music of the Night sounds like he is trying purposefully to scratch his voice and they really picked up the beat and added what sounds like an electric guitar (no its not the beautiful Michael Crawford version). I must end here. I can't say anymore, but Ladies and Gentlemen do not get this CD for your children. They will hate musicals if this is their first experience with it and be ultimately shocked if it isn't.

Clocking in with 31 remastered songs from 'down under', a dozen or more famous Australian artists from the early sixties display their cover versions of Gibb written songs. If you are not Australian, chances are you've never heard of Col Joye, Jimmie Little, Sandy Summers or Bip Addison. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that these very rare tracks have turned up, showing that even before the world heard of the Bee Gees, they were already making an impact on Australian music charts (albeit, they never had a hit themselves until the week they left for England!). I first heard Hammock on one of my local college station's ambient/electronica programs earlier this year. The song was "Passing Away" and I listened through two more long (and I mean looong...) selections by other artists just so I could find out who it was. The song reminded me why I love this kind of ethereal music in the first place. Haunting tapestries and melodies that call out your name to join them. I figured they were local or just an artist or group with one cd that was hard to find. I was surprised and happy to be able to find it on Amazon (as well as other cds they've done) and now this entire album is on my iPod and gets much play. I guess it depends on your tastes but I liked this album very much and uploaded more than a dozen of the tracks to my ipod. I have several chill albums and this is one of my favorite and one of the albums I keep on playing over and over. There's plenty of variety here.
