Now, I knew Nick Lowe's name from his production work on Elvis Costello's albums, but that was it. His music was a mystery...

And then, new musical vistas opened to me (heavenly choir effect, preferably with Dave Edmunds on guitar). The point is, it was nothing like what I expected, and has now been one of my favorite albums for 17 years.

The 1st cut ask's God to Send Down Your Glory and blesses the listener. The 3rd cut is in the gospel music tradition by simply giving praise to the Lord by saying Hallelujah. You must listen to the song Thank You Lord. The author through the singer's voice cries out and speaks: Hello it's me and I gotta to thank you Lord. Wow what a song, what words, and what a great prayer of praise. I want to thank OVE, producer and song writer Vic Richardson, for this wonderful work. Truly up-lifting and good for my spirit

other than being in the wrong part of the world(lincoln,nebraska), it took a while to finally discover this artist. after listening to this cd, i set out to capture his whole catalog. his early "dylanish" approach(sly lyrics and voice)got me hooked but the varying styles displayed keeps it a cd to enjoy repeatedly. he is quite a keen observer of human nature and his words capture those observations. this a great starting place to for getting to know this artist. i have done my best to give this cd and his other works to exposure they so richly deserve thru my community radio show.
