Malena Ernman has absolutely no understanding of the American idiom; her performances of the Bolcom sound have fussy early music singer written all over them. In addition, the voice is thin, out of tune and poorly produced. Seldom have I been so disappointed in a recording. I mean, look at this rep! With the right performers, it could have been a total winner. Bizarre would be the word for this.

Here's an outstanding album by a lady who knows how to sing a honky-tonk song. If you're into Reba, Shania, or Faith, then chances are you'll hate this album.....if you appreciate true country music (complete with steel guitars and fiddles), then buy this one. Leona Williams has been around for quite awhile, beginning with a few duets with her ex-husband/wife beater Merle Haggard and a not so successful (but still great) debut album. But, this album is released by Heart of Texas Records, and it surpasses anything coming out of Nashville today. There is not a bad song in the bunch, and personal favorites include: "Yes Ma'am...", "Youd Be Home By Now", and "Arms of a Fool". Sings Bob Wills

I love Bob Wills and since I have a very nice old LP with Johnny Bush ("Texas Dance Hall Girls") I had quite high expectations on this release. It starts out well with two fine tracks, both duets (Hank Thompson & Willie Nelson respectively). It's not like Johnny and Willie could ever improve on the original version of "Time Changes Everything", but then who could? (Tommy Duncan was the greatest). It seems strange to call this record "Sings Bob Wills" when only a few of the songs were ever recorded or written by the king of western swing. And the band is a bit too slick, with an over-emphazised horn-section. It's a fun album, but it could have been a lot better. It's also awful short (something like 27 minutes!). ... Read More:
