Rhino exhausted the Atlantic vaults of its Ray Charles catalogue, added a smart hardcover book, threw in an obscure concert on DVD and packaged everything in a magnificent carry case that resembles a vintage 45-record player. The result is the ultimate tribute to one of the giants of modern music, and raises the bar in box sets.

I don't see how anyone can improve on PURE GENIUS. The 6 CDs (each averaging 78 minutes) of Ray's released music are a sheer pleasure to listen to over and over. Credit Ray but also the sequencing.

Instead of arranging the tracks by album release date (i.e. The Velvet Underground and Cream boxes), Rhino gambles by sequencing according to *recording* date. Remember that until 1967's Sgt. ... Read More:

Most of the good tracks are ones i've already had. I was hoping that other tracks will be as good.
Alien Factory - Get the Future Started, Alien Factory - Destiny, and Drax Ltd. II - Amphetamine are very nice tracks that i've already had since a long time. Formic Acid - Eternia, Trans Motion - Pureerotomania, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - The Bird, Mindviper - Messiah 2000, Flex - Acid File #1, and Nature One - The Sense of Life (Hurricanmix) (an even better mix of a track i've already had) are good cool tracks.
So, in my opinion, these 9 tracks are the the good ones in this compilation. The others are really uninteresting. Therefore, i must give it 3 out of 5 stars. For me, this was not such a good buy because i've already had some of the ... Read More:

This has been my most favorite soundtrack ever. What's not to like about it when it has Information Society, B-52's, and Julie Brown? If you like chill 80's rock, this is the CD to get. I'm surprised that iTunes didn't have this soundtrack and since my original copy has been lost for awhile, I had to buy it again.
