Often when I see a film and like the soundtrack, I'm disappointed in the CD. Not so in this case - I loved the film, and the CD brings it all back when I listen. One complaint is that the volume has to be turned *way* up in order to hear it - then when the changer switches to the next CD it's much too loud, but I can live with it.

I saw the movie "Once" in the afternoon. The minute it was over I was heading to the record store for the sound track. It is amazing. I cannot get enough of Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova and now the Frames. The music is beautiful, the lyrics telling, the melody compelling. Like I said I cannot get enough.

My wife and I both met while working in the music industry. When we were married a few years later, we chose "All I Have" as our wedding song. BNC was always one of our personal favorites to play in the store and every time we played it we sold a copy.

BNC has a gift for song writing that is combined with a wonderfully moving voice. There are few artists that I would buy each and every album of without ever hearing a cut. She is one of them.

This CD is a good follow-up to her self titled album. Her lyrics have a way of reaching you much like Sarah McLachlin's and the songwriting is equally as solid. I look forward to the next CD she releases as I can never get enough of this talented artist.

A few years ago I was drawn back to Lisa Stansfield with her outstanding album "Lisa Stansfield" featuring the Barry White cover "Never Gonna Give You Up". I've since become a Lisa Stansfield devotee. Her albums are simply consistently great. I simultaneously just purchased her much lauded debut album "Affection" and this, her newest affair, "The Moment". Her debut album is a joy, and holds up quite well featuring her signature "All Around The World" and the brilliant "This Is The Right Time" that she recorded with Coldcut which really launched her career. WOW. after all these years lisa Stansfield come back with one great cd. thanks to trevor horn, the vocals are some of the best lisa has done. i am a big stansfield fan, and i really like the newer pop sound, got tired of the R&B thing she was doing before, it all started to sound the same.....with trevor, he helps breath new life into lisa and her work...some of the best songs, easier, when love breaks down, lay your hands on me, the moment, only wish there were more uptempo songs, but all and all.....what a wonderful cd. some people said it took them sometime to get use to the new sound.....i say, bring on more. if your a fan, and love lisa's voice,...then youll love this cd, i cant wait till the next one. thanks lisa. keep up the good work.

FITZCARRALDO is, plain and simple, a fantastic album. After hearing live versions of several of the tracks on the superb SET LIST, I knew I had to have this album in my collection.

Every track has something special about it. The title song alone makes the album worth owning. There is so much going on musically in "Fitzcarraldo" that I all I could do was sit and listen with my mouth open in amazement. "Revelate" begs to be danced to, "Evergreen" boasts a surprising guitar riff, and you'll find it hard not to sing along with "Angel at My Table" and "Denounced". Fans of ONCE will recognize the stellar "Say It To Me Now", presented here in its full electric version. "Your Face" is a beautiful, mellow tune that ties up the album well. ... Read More:

Nielsen Chapman is an odd duck as a singer-songwriter because she straddles several genres: adult contemporary, country, and jazz "lite". Her voice is firmly midrange..not a stratospheric soprano nor one I'd consider "dusky". The singing is tasteful, avoiding the tremulous vibrato that plagues AC divas but not being so "low-key" that it fades into the background.

HIGHLIGHTS:
The waltz of "Dance with Me Slow" is one waiting to be discovered as a new torch song. I'm incredulous that it isn't a wedding standard. It's enhanced by a nice muted trumpet part.
