If there was a church of Punk, Chris Bailey, Ed Kuepper, Ivor Hay, Kym Bradshaw and Algy Ward should have been held as its saints, and their house in Petrie Terrace, Brisbane (where they used to rehearse in their early days) would have been pilgrimed. I'm not sure, however, whether Punk's clergy would have held them as such. For them, I guess, the Saints were dissenters, to some extent. Oz' finest rock band truly belongs to the church of indifference (following the name of one of their songs). Evolving in glorious isolation in mid-seventies Brisbane, they have never tried to meet the requirements of Punk's orthodoxy (and their approach became even more indifferent to these requirements when they came to Punk-stricken England). Nothing like a bunch of multi-millionaires telling the saps who buy their CDs what a sorry state the nation is in. There are a few promising tunes on the CD but it's mostly the usual bilge being spewed by today's wannabe-activist musical acts. Save your money and download the songs you like from iTunes. As for Moveon.org -- their relevance has come and gone. Most of the kids buying this CD probably don't even know the original purpose of this passe, discredited organization. In summary, this is true bleeding heart feel good junk. Shut up and sing.

That's hard to imagine -- after a mild buildup of vocal harmonies and guitar riffs, the catchiness kicks in with the rapid-fire percussion. "And I won't say what if it's true/Le garage (le garage-RAGE!)" the guys shout in the opener.
Things don't die down after that, from the Devo-esque "Robot" to the heavy-guitar, dadaesque "Man Ray." Not that everything is all the same -- the Futureheads are one ... Read More:

I already owned the original release, but I got curious about the bonus tracks on this new reissue. I wasn't dissapointed. It includes her very-hard-to-find vinyl release "I Forgot the Title," and it's REALLY GOOD. Shojo Toshi was already a very solid album, but the addition of six new tracks makes this edition well worth it. Go sell your old copy and pick this new one up.
