OK I'll admit it - I far prefer the vocals of Ian Parry who sang on later Elegy albums to Eduard Novinga, who sang on this one.

Despite that this is still a strong release.

Tunes such as Lost, Everything and Clean Up Your Act are downright tasty. The meaner Spirits (one of the tracks on their acoustic ep done with Ian Parry) certainly provides an edge to proceedings.

The Elegy mindset is here fully developed. Also fully in force is their musical assault, particularly the guitar work which is such a hallmark of this form of Euro metal. And the production job by Wolfgang Stach and Henk van der Laars is up to the task of allowing this release to breathe.

Death's Design

Words alone cannot describe the greatness that is Death's Design. If you are a fan of Black Metal, Avant-Garde Metal, or just extreme metal in general I urge you to pick this CD up for a listen. I will not try to go in depth for I wouldn't be able to do it justice but I will say that this has quickly become one of my favorite metal releases.

I will not go into depth about how awesome this album is because a lot of other reviewers have already done a good job. This album has remained one of my favorite avant-garde black metal albums since it was first released.

I just wanted to point out that Basil Poledouris wrote the music from track 30 to 32, the 9th movement. There are a few other songs on here that have been influenced by Basil such as Spinning Back the Clocks. I salute Anders Nystrom for being able to make a completely awesome cover of the Conan the Barbarian theme without even having to give credit to the original writer. I don't know how he got away with it, but job well done!

Politickin', Vol. 1

This album puts all other asian rappers to shame. Jin is nothing compared to Chan, and this album only certifies Chan as the best Asian rapper (maybe with the exception of Offwhyte). That being said, this album has no big names, except for Jus Allah, Gza and Bomshot on "Vengeance". Beware, this album is impressive, just like other reviewers have said. I am super happy to have stumbled upon Chan.
