This was my first dream dance experience so it was all a new thing for me... it hasn't left my CD player ever since. I'm now investing on the the rest of the dream dance series. When played it should be well towards the full volume and the bass turned up to the max. A MUST buy for the dance enthusiast

I Own volume 1,3,5,7,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,and the chilled and special megamix edition and i must say this is a good one to start out with but it does'nt seem to have the push that the other albums have,i plan on getting vol. 6,8,9,10 soon if possible if you like music like sash! this is a great album or i recomend probably go for vol.1-5 because they have that style of sound! If you want the faster shorter dreamey songs go for vol.16-22. This is a great series and i have only yet begun my collection, the only thing that probably come close to this series as far as the music goes is maybe, and i stress maybe would be gatecrasher compilations.or check out artists such as airscape,dj taucher, sash!,dj flaming jupiter, moby and other great artists.

In a musical climate dominated by confessional prose, monotonous singing, and rhytmical non-existence, Yeek Yak Air Force is a breath of fresh air! The rhythms employed by the drummer remind the present day listener that once upon a time, bands like Devo and the Police made rythmically sophisticated music that was not considered "math rock." Yeek Yak seems to not fear rhythmic deliberation - or the taboos associated with making smart music these days - choosing not to use the drum kit just to follow predictable vocalisms (as has become the pattern in indie rock).
The guitar is subtle and understated, yet intricate and prescient. It creeps. It upwells. The guitarist often uses unconventional drones and sonic wavers that startle. ... Read More:

It had been a while since I'd purchased or heard any new Stephin Merrit and was totally unaware of Showtunes existence until a week or so ago. The price was right so I gave it a shot and am happy to say that Mr. Merrit's well has not run dry. Melody and humor still reign in Merrit's world and we're all the richer for it.

Like the multi-dimensional lives of the characters in the film, this soundtrack reaches into different tones -- and like the film, this album comes together into an amazing piece.
The Polyphonic Spree, The Moldy Peaches and The Whiles seduce us into softer moods, while kicking Ministry tracks open and close the album and keep the adrenaline pumping.
I agree that Jamie Saft's score is an intergral part of the soundtrack, but the other tunes on the album compliment Saft's tracks well to make a great and solid CD.

This is a fun soundtrack that evokes the feeling of the movie...an interesting mix of music with a quirky twist and airy feel. Many of the tunes have a folksy feel, but there's also a couple of good classics (the Kinks, Mott the Hoople, Buddy Holly) to balance it out. I happen to adore the opening credits tune (Barry Polisar's All I Want Is You) as it brings back childhood memories of other hilarious Polisar tunes like "Don't Stick Your Finger Up Your Nose" and "Early Sunday Morning" :-) If you enjoyed the movie, it's easy to enjoy the soundtrack even if many of the tunes aren't ones you might normally choose (at least that was the case with me).
