Shades Of: The Chess Singles 1961-1968Search: Part-Time Lover by: Mitty Collier Release Date July 15, 2008 These are most of the legendary 60's Chess recordings of Mitty Collier. Everybody is familiar with the song,"I had A Talk With My Man Last Night", a gospel song reborn with secular lyrics. Well, here are the rest of the songs Mitty recorded complete with musical arrangements by Riley C. Hampton (who arranged "At Last" for Etta James). The distinct piano playing of Leonard Caston is outstanding here and the performances themselves have been well preserved after all these years and are re-issued in glorious STEREO. This is some of the greatest music that Chess Records ever produced in Chicago and Mitty Collier is one of the most under rated singers in R&B history. Wow, what a show! |

My DearSearch: Part-Time Lover by: New Years Day Release Date May 08, 2007 I went to see the band madina lake at a concert just a month ago and look who played with them....New years day! I remember watching her and the band play with so much heart and loving the sounds of the songs! I heard of the band but Ive never seen them live before! so after that I bought their CD off amazon and loved it so much. I was right, my dear, and my sweet unvalentine are my favorite songs by them! while their songs are kinda on the same subject (breaking up yaddy yadda) It kicks all it back with a hell of a catchy tune to their songs. Overall I say buy new years eve and see them at the warp tour. You wont be sorry! |
