For avid Rundgren followers, this is an opportunity to own some of the rarest jewels that were never released on LPs, from a time of Todd's most creative artistic output. But for the casual Todd Rundgren fan, the reissues of Todd's albums or the greatest hits packages might be more appropriate. And since this only available as a Japanese import, it's price may keep all but the most rabid fans away.

Only in the EU-here-the 'hip' wouldnt get caught dead in such clothing -much less being out in nature-its just not "WITH-IT" or cool!

I am a long-time Kool and The Gang fan, and I was excited that the magic of their live show might finally be captured on a CD. But what I heard instead was a very disappointing, J.T.-less, performance. Great song selection, but the Gang sounds rushed and kind of going-through-the-motions. This was an Australian performance evidently recorded before J.T. reconnected with the band, so the versions are capable vocally but his absence is definitely felt. Its obvious that the comapny clearly wanted to convey the idea that J.T. is the singer on the CD, because his picture is on the cover, and there is no mention in the notes of the line-up to suggest otherwise (actually, there ARE no notes, just ads for the company's other "product"). This album is an inferior repackaging of "Fantastic Plastic People," an album released for free on the Internet and on CD in the UK a year before this. Fantastic Plastic People was an amazing album, possibly even better than The Harder They Come, previously my favorite reggae album. But for some reason he redid these songs in a way that made them sound a lot more like pop and techno than like reggae. It boggles the mind why he would release one of the greatest reggae albums ever, only to repackage it in an inferior fashion. I hope in the future that Jimmy returns to the roots, because he's an amazingly talented musician.
