The theme to the Little Rascals is my favorite and everytime I hear it - it makes me smile. A must for lovers of the "The Little Rascals" shorts. |
Janácek: The Cunning Little VixenSearch: Only If... from: Chandos Release Date October 21, 2003 There is nothing like the Cunning Little Vixen. It's a masterpiece, and it's not even Janacek's best Opera! This recording, sung in english, serves the work well. The orchestra and chorus are very well lead by Rattle. The vixen's dream in the first act is beautifully played. The translation is easy on the ears, fits the music well, and all the singers have excellent diction. Lillian Watson's Vixen is well sung, a nice lyric voice that suits the part very nicely. "Can it be that I am beautiful?" is heart-stoppingly beautiful. Sir Thomas Allen is his usual peerless self. As far as I'm conserned, he is the Forester. His wonderful song in the Tavern is so incredably well sung it should be entered into the hall of fame. Diana Montague ... Read More: |

It's just a shame that kids can't take the time out of the nonsense called RAP to really listen to how music should.....I mean beautiful music and singing should sound like. I love this whole CD from beginning to end, I purchased the album back in 1980 only knowing that still to this day this CD still plays a very important role in my life style and up bringing. I highly recommend this work of brilliance to any music listener, that can really appreciate great lyrics, melodies and singing. |
