I can't believe anyone would give this a decent review. It's awful. All Music Guide calls it "confused and unsuccessful," TheatreMania Guide to Musical Theatre Recordings dubs this "Not Recommended" and says "this recording is an out-and-out failure," and Musicals101 chimes in with "painfully miscast" and adds "pretentious trash." They're right.
At this point you can pick this "gem" up for less than $3!

The J. Geils band are great. They take this old school R&B vibe, splice in some blues, some rock and roll, and some genuine South Shore party attitude, and mix it all up into an amazing mix of party tunes. These guys were at the peak of their talents when they put out this album, which features hits like NOTHIN BUT A HOUSE PARTY and GIVE IT TO ME. Every song on this one is a winner.

If you only know of the Geils band from their later 80's excursions (thats when they were at their commercial height) you are missing out on what made these guys a household name in the cool kids circle.
