Beny More' is rightly considered the greatest overall Cuban singer and performer. I'm guessing that many people who love music have thought of whose voice they would have if they could choose one. Cooke, Elvis, and Sinatra usually come out on top for me, but Beny always manages more than a passing consideration. He was a complete singer, equally comfortable with slow boleros or the fastest uptempo Afro-Cuban music. He worked in a number of bands including the Trio Matamoros and Perez Prado. He was offered a job with Celia Cruz' band, the Sonora Matancera, but didn't like its tame sound and, instead, assembled the rocking, world-class band you hear on Maracaibo Oriental, blazing a unique trail with a harder, more instrument-centered sound. F*%#ing Awsome album as usual Mike Patton dosn't fail to impress with this releas some realy great songs and some great sampling and scratching from the Xecutioner gang. A lot of good break beat stuff the only complaint is that the tracks are not long enough!!! we could use some extended remixes from this album. would have to rate highly for Pattons side project stuff

As Ry Cooder did with the Buena Vista Social Club, German-born saxophonist Klaus Roehm both played with Orquesta Sublime and helped them release albums outside of Cuba. Orquesta Sublime, which was founded in 1956, was still playing in Habana Vieja, Havana's old town district, but it took the involvement of a foreign musician to get Sublime Havana recorded and released. The world is definitely a better place for the album' s release, because even though Sublime Havana doesn't tread new musical territory, it does testify to the great variety and unassuming musicianship of traditional Cuban charanga music. I have seen this film many times over the years and it is always enjoyable. The album is as fun as the film and brings a smile to my face when I hear the music of Professor Fate. I can see him with his Snydley Whiplash mustache yelling at his faithful servant, Max. Mr. Mancini did a wonderful job with this music! I'm sure it will bring a twinkle to your eye as well as your heart.

I am totally in love with the music and the video of this musical. The voices are great and the music immediately picks up my mood. I find myself humming or singing the tunes all the time. I even wake up with the songs playing in my head. It sets me up for a high energy and positive thinking day.
