Dear Nora is my absolute favorite band! Lead singer Katy Davidson has a way of writing lyrics that remind me of my own experiences, youth, and love. What's great about this album is that it lacks the over-produced, self-absorbed style that a lot of indie rockers take on. Instead, her songs are melodical, sweet and do you just right. The album makes me want to bop my head while enjoying a day with my sweetie: painting, cuddling, laughing, and being free. My personal fav.: number twelve. ...

Bold, Gutsy and Daring! These are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind when finishing a full listen of Way Back to Paradise, Audra McDonald's debut solo CD. We knew she was so talented at interpreting a song as well as telling a story, but I didn't expect this CD. I expected an album's length of standards as most Musical Theatre chanteuses opt for with a debut solo album. Now this is not an easy listen. It definitely takes some work, but the rewards are copious. There are moments that scream of epic grandeur (A Lullaby, Mistress of the Senator, Tom) and others that are so tender (Baby Moon), it makes one wonder if these songs were originally written with her in mind because the originals pale in comparison.

In my opinion (virtual Babehead), this is the absolute best of the Bitchin Babes CDs. It's got great balads ("Shadow," "Dreams of Deep Water," "Clover,") and hilarious comic tunes ("Great Big Bug," "Muzak," "Microwave Life," "What Was I Thinking?"). If you bought Gabby Road and liked it, buy this one!

She is a natural talent that we will not likely hear from again. Unfortunately, Church was discovered too young, and rather than protecting the precious, amazing talent, it was used to make a quick buck. I'm sure that's what she thought she wanted, but now, several years later, her voice is showing evidence of the damage caused by the unrealistic strain put on her developing larynx and vocal folds.

I hope that she is able to come back. I hope that with rest and decent training, we find an artist that comes into her own and brings a whole new generation of vocalists and music lovers into an appreciation for classical singing.

Great Record! Everyone that has heard it has asked me who it was. I answered "Mitchell Froom" and they undoubtedly replied "who?". I guess most people don't know who he is. I've always loved his production work, so I decided to give this album a try. I notice that currenty, used copies of this cd only cost a dollar and some change, so there is no excuse for not giving it a listen. It will be the best dollar that you've ever spent:)

This guy will overwhelm you with his musical talents. After listening to only one of Jim's song, you will immediately see how the hand of God has blessed Jim and how his ministry is bringing Glory to God as well as touching your spirit. This man has a sincere and humble heart that can only be the work of the Holy Spirit leading and guiding Jim in all of his musical endeavors. Go, you will be truly Blessed !
